This image of Christ on the Cross, is a very old hand carved santo by a carver in puerto Rico. The carvers were not professionals but common people who wanted to show their religious faith. Many times they were carpenters who had wood and some house paint, who wanted to show their devotion and faith by having an image in their homes. Today, it is hard to find carvers but this art has become a nostalgic collectors item.
